Spanberger: “We as Virginians … Deserve Better than What We Have in This Current Moment”
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger yesterday addressed a standing-room only crowd in Albemarle County and spoke to Virginians about her vision for Virginia’s future and the bipartisan approach she’ll use to achieve it and put Virginians first.
In the room of more than 250 attendees at the Albemarle County Democratic Party’s Annual Spring Fundraiser, Spanberger spoke about how as the next Governor of Virginia, she will work tirelessly to bring people together across party lines and get things done for Virginians.

“I was always ranked the most bipartisan member of Congress… in Virginia,” Spanberger told 29News. “That’s not just a talking point; it speaks to approach, to my ability to get things done.”
Spanberger also emphasized that Virginians deserve more leaders who will push back against the chaos coming out of Washington — the firing of federal workers, reckless tariffs on some of Virginia’s largest trading partners, and cuts to federal research investments and funding for critical programs — that is disrupting Virginia’s economy.
“There’s a lot at stake, and really what it comes down to is we as Virginians and as Americans, we deserve better than what we have in this current moment,” continued Spanberger to 29News.
“We’ve got bridges that are crumbling, highways that need to be fixed, schools that need to be repaired, people that are out of work soon because of the policy in D.C., and there are a lot of things like that need to be addressed, and I think Abigail Spanberger is the person for that,” Bruce Kirtley, Chair, Albemarle County Democrats told 29News.
BACKGROUND
