Virginia Is Home to More Than 140,000 Federal Employees

RICHMOND, Va. — Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger continues to stand up for Virginia’s federal workers, their families, and the Commonwealth’s economy.

As Spanberger told the Associated Press this weekend, she continues to hear from federal workers, small business owners, contractors, and business leaders who are concerned about the Trump Administration’s threats to federal employees and the potentially devastating consequences for Virginia’s economy.

“Not only have I heard from federal employees in Virginia who are worried about their livelihoods and their ability to take care of their families, but I’ve also heard from business leaders, contractors, and small business owners who are rightfully nervous about what these attacks mean for the stability of our Commonwealth’s economy,” Spanberger said in a statement.

Virginia is home to more than 140,000 federal employees — and Spanberger is continuing to make clear how the Trump Administration’s attempts to undermine the federal workforce are threatening the livelihoods of Virginians and their families.
