Spanberger just concluded three days in Southwest Virginia, during which she visited everywhere from Galax to Blacksburg to Roanoke.

Spanberger said that over the past three days spent in our region, she’s heard a lot about education and cost of living.

Spanberger highlighted that although she is very aware that this region is considered a deeply conservative part of the commonwealth, “I hope that what I’ve demonstrated for the people I used to serve when I was in Congress and the people I hope to serve as governor, is that vote for me, or you don’t vote for me. I still work for you, and I still want to be accountable, and I still want to hear from people.”

10 News (Roanoke): Gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger tours Southwest Virginia

Democratic candidate Abigail Spanberger was out meeting residents in Roanoke earlier today as part of a tour of Southwest Virginia.

We asked her what she’s hearing from voters.

“The cost of housing and the housing supply is a big one that I’ve been hearing about, and you know, within the state, we have the real opportunity to make advancements on addressing what was a long-time shortage in the making. And it’s now impacting people’s ability to afford a place to live, or maybe even move to the region.”
