Virginia is Home to More Than 140,000 Federal Employees

RICHMOND, Va. — Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger last night spoke with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi about the Trump Administration’s attacks against federal government employees who call Virginia home — and made clear her commitment to protecting Virginia’s workforce and economy.

Virginia is home to more than 140,000 federal employees. In last night’s interview, Spanberger spoke out against the Trump Administration’s threatening of nonpartisan career public servants and made clear the wide-ranging consequences for Virginia’s workforce and economy. She also underscored the wide-ranging impacts of President Trump’s proposed freeze of all federal funding, which has caused community health centers in Virginia to close locations, cut offered services, and cancel patient appointments.
