CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Wearing the “campaign for Governor” cap, 7th District Democratic Congressional Representative Abigail Spanberger is doing a listening tour to different parts of the state — in Charlottesville today. She tells WINA Morning News this is something she’s always had the opportunity to do in Virginia’s 7th District, but now having a reason “to be across the rest of the Commonwealth has… been wonderful”.  She says she was in southside and southwest Virginia last week listening about people’s lives.

Top issues she’s hearing about is education and teacher retention, as well as other support services in the schools being short-staffed. She’s hearing about the economy where people want to make sure tomorrow’s better than the day before… and small business owners want a governor atoned to their needs. She’s also hearing about overall freedoms… whether it’s abortion or overall book banning.

Spanberger says a lot of people also want positivity. They want to know what she’s for, and want the communities not fighting over things. She says they want someone who brings people together, which she claims she has a history of doing.
