WINA: Spanberger tells MSNBC she would sign right-to-contraception legislation as Governor

By Jay Hart

WASHINGTON, DC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia’s presumptive Democratic nominee for Governor Abigail Spanberger was on MSNBC’s “Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell talking about Governor Youngkin’s veto of right-to-contraception legislation a week ago. She says this is on the ballot in 2024, and will be in Virginia in 2025… and she will sign the legislation into law when she is Governor. She said even after the leak of the incoming U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning Roe-v-Wade, people have been asking if it stops at abortion…or whether access to IVF and contraception will come into play. Spanberger says that comes into question with Governor Youngkin’s veto of legislation the General Assembly passed in light of occurrences in other states affecting IVF and contraceptive access.
