Job Description: Digital Director

Abigail Spanberger’s 2025 campaign for Governor is seeking an experienced, organized, and demonstrated team player to oversee the digital strategy on the most high-profile race in the nation in 2025. The Digital Director will focus on engaging Virginia voters, building enthusiasm, delivering Abigail Spanberger’s message across Virginia, and motivating Virginians to take action. The Digital Director will work closely with the Communications Director, Finance Director, Research Director, and other key departments, to achieve the campaign’s online goals.

The Digital Director will report directly to the Campaign Manager. This is a full-time position based in Richmond, Virginia. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Oversee all of the campaign’s integrated digital strategy — including but not limited to: email fundraising, social media, content creation, digital fundraising, and website management.
  • Manage the campaign’s Digital Department, as well as production team members including photography and video.
  • Write, edit, and manage online finance and mobilization content.
  • Manage the production of creative, engaging social media content for multiple platforms and audiences on behalf of the campaign and Abigail Spanberger’s message.
  • Develop and implement a plan for online outreach — including through relationships with online influencers and advocates.
  • Identify new opportunities for online engagement and track digital trends to grow the online program.
  • Track and analyze digital data as it pertains to organizing, fundraising, and voter mobilization.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

  • At least (4) four years of political campaign or other relevant digital experience.
  • Excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using NGP, VAN, Google Suite, and video production software.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A desire to work long campaign hours, including evenings and weekends in 2025.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and team members at one time and complete all tasks ahead of tight deadlines.
  • Access to a car and ability to easily travel with the candidate and campaign team in Virginia.

 

Compensation:

$9,000/month, commensurate with experience. Health, vision, and dental insurance are included with Employee premiums covered 100% by Spanberger for Governor.
