Letter to the Editor
Thank you for publishing the article about Abigail Spanberger’s rally in Alexandria and her work for sensible gun safety (April 10, 2025). My husband and I heartily endorse Spanberger for Governor and are convinced she is the right person to lead Virginia right now.
We had a chance to meet her at a small gathering earlier this Spring and were impressed with her background as a federal law enforcement officer and CIA Case Officer and, of course, a member of Congress. She is focused on issues of importance to Virginians such as lowering prescription drug prices for seniors, expanding healthcare benefits for veterans, and improving roads and bridges in the Commonwealth.
She told us that she has been traveling all across the Commonwealth speaking with people about their concerns and their hopes for the future. Her willingness to speak with and listen to anyone is rare and much needed in these days of intense polarization.
She also emphasized her collaborative approach to governance, noting the importance of working with local officials, law enforcement and organizations much like Moms Demand Action. We agree that this is the best way forward for Virginia.
We encourage our fellow Virginians to learn about Abigail Spanberger – browse her website and get out to meet her in person if you can, and please vote in November 2025. We’re sure you’ll agree with us that she is just what we need for Virginia.
