The Mid-Atlantic Region of the Laborers’ International Union of North America recently endorsed Abigail Spanberger as the next Governor of Virginia. The union represents thousands of construction workers, skilled laborers, and other private and public employees across Virginia.
“Abigail Spanberger’s track record speaks for itself — she has and will continue to strengthen Virginia’s workforce,” said Dennis L. Martire, Vice President and Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager. “We look forward to working with her on projects and policies that will bring more working families into the middle class such as expanding the use of project labor agreements.”
The union’s members build the roads and bridges Virginians use every day, construct houses and apartment buildings and provide critical services to our communities, said Spanberger in a statement.
“All working Virginians deserve the right to advocate for higher pay, better benefits, and commonsense health and safety protections. “I’m proud to earn LIUNA’s endorsement to serve as the next Governor of Virginia and to stand with the union members who help keep our Commonwealth strong. I look forward to working together to invest in our workforce and create good-paying jobs for more Virginians,” she stated.
