Everywhere Abigail travels across the Commonwealth, she meets Virginians who work hard, play by the rules, and want a better life for their kids. As the next Governor of Virginia, Abigail believes in building an economy that expands opportunity for every Virginian, no matter where they live. That means making sure Virginians can earn a good living, support their families, and know they’ll have a secure retirement.
As a product of Virginia public schools, Abigail believes that all Virginians should have access to the education and training they need to succeed in their careers. As Governor, she will use every tool available to grow Virginia’s workforce training and apprenticeship programs, so that the next generation can fill vacancies in high-skill jobs. And she will invest in Virginia’s incredible colleges and universities, community colleges, and HBCUs — which have been chronically underfunded.
To help more families get ahead, she will bring Democrats and Republicans together to address the high cost of childcare for Virginia’s working parents. And to foster Virginia’s limitless potential as a hub of entrepreneurship and innovation, Abigail will work to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens for the Commonwealth’s small businesses.
Abigail has a record of getting things done for Virginia’s economy. After gathering ideas from both Virginia business and labor organizations, Abigail voted in the U.S. House to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The bipartisan infrastructure law has already delivered more than $10 billion for Virginia’s physical infrastructure — supporting good-paying jobs and supercharging the Commonwealth’s economy for the long run.
In Congress, Abigail also voted to pass bipartisan legislation to boost homegrown semiconductor research, production, and development — keeping America’s edge over foreign competitors. These investments create jobs right here in the Commonwealth. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce even recognized Abigail’s work in Congress to bring Democrats and Republicans together to grow Virginia’s economy.
