As Abigail meets with families, patients, providers, and community healthcare organizations, she repeatedly hears about the financial struggles facing seniors, families, and those with chronic conditions as their prescription drug costs continue to rise. Abigail believes that no Virginian should have to choose between putting food on the table or paying for their medications.

In Congress, Abigail led the charge to give Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices and in the process save taxpayers billions. She voted to cap insulin copays at $35 per month for seniors on Medicare and cap out-of-pocket drug costs for Virginia seniors. Additionally, President Trump signed into law Abigail’s effort to make it harder for drug industry middlemen — pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) — to rip off American consumers. As the next Governor of Virginia, Abigail will continue working to lower prescription drug costs and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable.

Abigail believes that all Virginians deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare — and believes in protecting Virginia’s Medicaid expansion and defending against efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, which protects more than 1.3 million Virginians with pre-existing conditions. In the face of ongoing threats from Republicans in Congress to cut Medicaid funding, Abigail will fight to protect Medicaid expansion here in the Commonwealth.
