As a parent of three daughters in Virginia public schools — one in elementary school, one in middle school, and one in high school, Abigail knows the importance of making sure Virginia’s K-12 schools are the best in the country. She believes that all parents deserve to know that their children will receive an outstanding education — one that challenges them and prepares them for success in their next steps in a career, an apprenticeship program, the military, or college.
As Virginia’s next Governor, Abigail will work aggressively to get schools the funding they need, address Virginia’s teacher shortage, and provide teachers with training and support. She will oppose efforts that seek to erode faith in our public schools or take public dollars out of public schools.
As Governor, Abigail will increase support for workforce training programs — both in K-12 schools and in community colleges — that lead to good-paying jobs for Virginia students.
For students who do wish to pursue a college education, Abigail is committed to working with students, parents, and college and university administrators to address the rising cost of higher education while also maintaining the world-class quality of Virginia’s higher education institutions.
