Abigail Spanberger’s 2025 campaign for Governor is seeking an experienced Social Media Manager for the most high-profile race in the nation in 2025. The Social Media Manager will help lead our social media platforms, draft copy across platforms, create supporter toolkits, and assist with capturing content on the road as needed. The Social Media Manager will work with the broader digital team to push the candidate’s messaging across platforms, including X, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, and other channels as needed. The ideal candidate will be someone who is chronically online, knows the latest social media trends, and knows how to innovate and optimize content across different platforms.
This position will report to the Deputy Digital Director for Content. This is a full-time position based in Richmond, Virginia, but will be expected to be on the road occasionally as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead on drafting and scheduling social media copy across platforms.
- Help develop and execute on the campaign’s social media strategy.
- Organize content provided by Field and Political Departments.
- Create toolkits and draft copy for supporters, surrogates, and partners.
- Assist with capturing content on the road as needed.
- Assist with internal digital operations and processes, including our approvals process
- Track analytics and data.
- Assist the Organizing Department with digital organizing needs.
- Manage Facebook groups, DMs, and other grassroots supporter groups.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of experience managing social media platforms for a candidate, politician, organization, or brand.
- Proficiency in graphic design software or programs, such as Canva or Adobe Suite.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, including Docs and Sheets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
- A desire to work long campaign hours, including evenings and weekends in 2025.

Compensation:
$6,250/month, commensurate with experience. Health, vision, and dental insurance are included. Employee premiums covered 100% by Spanberger for Governor.
