Job Description: Research Associate
Abigail Spanberger for Governor is seeking a Research Associate. The Research Associate will work with the Research Director and the Research Department to conduct long and short term research projects and help the campaign develop effective narratives for earned and paid media. The Research Associate will support the Research Department to monitor opponents, produce original research by analyzing public records, news clips, campaign finance reports, and other public sources, and conduct the vetting of individuals and entities affiliated with the campaign.
The Research Director will report directly to the Research Director. This is a full-time position based in Richmond, Virginia.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct long and short-term research projects using public records, news clips, campaign finance reports, personal financial disclosures, and other sources for use by the communications team, senior staff, and consultants
- Develop rapid response documents on tight timelines with precision and attention to detail
- Write research backups for paid media and polling
- Coordinate partner tracking programs
- Conduct and oversee the vetting of individuals and entities affiliated with the campaign
- Perform media monitoring of developments in the 2025 Governor’s race
- Provide additional support to the Research department as needed
- All other duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Exceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Campaign research experience preferred but not required
Compensation:
$5,500/month, commensurate with experience. Health, vision, and dental insurance are included with Employee premiums covered 100% by Spanberger for Governor.
