“Today, Virginians and Americans across our country reflect on our country’s history and celebrate this day of liberation and freedom. Juneteenth is not just a celebration — it is a solemn recognition of the pain, resilience, and courage that Black Americans have carried through generations. It reminds us that freedom was not granted all at once, and that the struggle for equality is ongoing.
“Adam and I are wishing all Virginians a meaningful and happy Juneteenth, and I join communities across our Commonwealth in remembering this historic step in the pursuit of liberty and justice for all.”
