Subramanyam: “She Understands the Challenges Facing Our Commonwealth”
RICHMOND, Va. — U.S. Representative-elect Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) today endorsed U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger to serve as the 75th Governor of Virginia.
Last month, voters in Virginia’s 10th District elected Subramanyam to serve them in Congress. In his endorsement, Subramanyam praised Spanberger’s success in the U.S. House, her focus on the issues that matter to Virginians, and her grasp of the challenges facing the Commonwealth.
“Abigail Spanberger brings a public service mindset to Congress every day, and she will bring this same approach to the Governor’s Mansion,” said Subramanyam. “She understands the challenges facing our Commonwealth — from the high cost of living to increased cybersecurity threats to job opportunities for the next generation. As our next Governor, Abigail will invest in our public schools and workforce training programs, lower costs for working families, and protect the fundamental rights of all Virginians. I know that she believes in the promise of Virginia, and I’m honored to endorse her.”
“As we head into 2025, I’m grateful for the support of Congressman-elect Subramanyam as our campaign continues working for Virginians across the Commonwealth. During his 2024 campaign, I watched Suhas reach out to voters across the 10th District, stand up for Virginia families and businesses, and listen to the day-to-day concerns of the people he will soon serve,” said Spanberger. “That’s the kind of leadership Virginians deserve in the U.S. House, and that’s why I’m so glad to have Suhas on our team as we build a campaign focused on the issues that matter most to Virginians.”
A wide range of elected officials from all corners of the Commonwealth of Virginia have continued to endorse Spanberger to serve as the next Governor of Virginia.
Outgoing 10th District U.S. Representative Jennifer Wexton (VA-10) — who Subramanyam is succeeding in the U.S. House — was the first Virginia elected official to endorse Spanberger’s campaign. And just yesterday, U.S. Representative-elect Eugene Vindman (VA-07) endorsed her campaign for Governor.
Spanberger has also been endorsed by Teamsters Joint Council 83, Clean Virginia, Emily’s List, VoteVets, Brady PAC, End Citizens United // Let America Vote, and GIFFORDS.

BACKGROUND
Spanberger is serving her third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. In Congress, she serves on the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. Before Congress, Spanberger served as a federal law enforcement officer — working narcotics and money laundering cases — and as a CIA case officer — working undercover on counterterrorism and nuclear counterproliferation cases.
She and her husband Adam are the proud parents of three school-aged daughters.
