Torian, Chairman of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus: “I Know that Virginians Across Our Communities Trust Abigail to Move Our Commonwealth Forward”
RICHMOND, Va. — Delegate Luke Torian, Chairman of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus, today endorsed Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger to serve as the next Governor of Virginia.
The newly elected Chair of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus, Torian was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009. He is a husband, father, pastor, and community leader. He also serves as the Chairman of the Virginia House Appropriations Committee.
“I’m proud to endorse Abigail Spanberger to serve as the next Governor of Virginia. At a time when thousands of my constituents are worried about losing their jobs, Prince William County deserves leaders in Richmond who have the courage to always put Virginia families first. Abigail Spanberger is one of those leaders,” said Torian. “Abigail will stand up for Virginia’s workforce and economy as Governor, and I know that Virginians across our communities trust her to move our Commonwealth forward.”
Torian continued, “Abigail has shown time and time again she understands the challenges facing families in Prince William County and across every corner of Virginia — and is ready to chart a better future for our community. I look forward to working side-by-side with her in the General Assembly to protect the progress we’ve made — and to continue advancing policies that make life more affordable for working families, create good-paying jobs, uplift our schools, and strengthen our communities.”
“I’ve gotten to know Chairman Torian as a principled, proven leader and a man of deep and abiding faith. He has a clear record of delivering real results for the people of Prince William County — and communities across the Commonwealth. Both at home in his community and while working on its behalf in Richmond, he has dedicated his life to serving others and expanding opportunity for every Virginian,” said Spanberger. “I’m grateful to earn Chairman Torian’s support to serve as Virginia’s next Governor — and together, I know we will get things done for all who call our Commonwealth home.”
